Novogene Europe, a multi-omics research services partner, today announced that it has strengthened its position as a multi-omics partner with the launch of untargeted metabolomics services through the Cambridge Omics Center. This new capability will help researchers in the UK and Europe connect molecular data with biological function by adding metabolite-level insights to genomics, transcriptomics, microbiome, and broader life sciences research.

Untargeted Metabolomics supports discovery-driven research by profiling small molecule changes close to the phenotype, allowing researchers to explore the biochemical activities underlying complex biological systems. A new liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) workflow is built combining Thermo Scientific™ Vanquish™ UHPLC and Orbitrap™ Exploris™ 120 high-resolution accurate mass spectrometry to provide comprehensive high-resolution metabolite profiling across appropriate biological sample types using an extensive reference library. This complements Novogene Europe’s established strengths in genomics, transcriptomics, sequencing and bioinformatics, helping academic, biotech and biopharmaceutical researchers move from molecular measurements to deeper insights into disease mechanisms, microbiome interactions, therapeutic responses, biomarker discovery, translational research and pathway-level biology.

Metabolomics is the first launch in a broader phase of expansion through Novogene’s Cambridge Omics Center at the BioInnovation Center in Cambridge, UK, and will position the company in one of the UK’s most established life sciences and technology ecosystems. Metabolomics is particularly important to Novogene’s multi-omics strategy because it links upstream molecular information with downstream biochemical activities. The launch reinforces Novogene Europe’s long-term commitment to leveraging its global reach, scientific expertise and technical capabilities to support customers from experimental design and data generation to bioinformatics and biological interpretation.

“Starting untargeted metabolomics through our Cambridge Omics Center is an important step in strengthening Novogene Europe’s multi-omics capabilities and supporting researchers with a more integrated biology perspective.” Tingting Zhou, Vice President of Novogene Europe, said: “As research questions become more complex, our customers increasingly need to combine genomic and transcriptomic information with functional biochemical insights. Metabolomics adds a powerful layer to this picture, helping researchers explore disease mechanisms, microbiome interactions, treatment responses, and pathway-level biology.

This announcement also reflects Novogene’s continued evolution from a trusted sequencing service provider to a broader multi-omics partner. In our 15th anniversary year, it is especially meaningful to expand our capabilities in Cambridge and continue to support academic, biotech and biopharmaceutical researchers with high quality data generation, bioinformatics and scientific expertise across Europe. ”

Cambridge has a long-standing reputation as a center for life sciences innovation, and access to advanced omics capabilities is an important part of that ecosystem. We welcome Novogene Europe’s continued investment in the Cambridge Omics Center and the development of metabolomics services to support researchers and companies working at the forefront of biological discovery. ”
