    maybe virginia Some are for hobbyists, and more recently, some are for data centers. The state has more data centers than anywhere else in the world, and companies are pushing to build more, including around Manassas National Battlefield Park, the nation’s most sacred site.

    “I don’t think people realize what’s really going on, how much ground is being taken over by data centers and everything that goes with it,” says Elena Schlossberg, a leading activist opposing data center development in Northern Virginia. “There is NIMBY, there is NOTE, and NOTE is also not there.”
