23andMe plans to offer customers the ability to import their medical records, giving them what the company calls a “360-degree view of their personal health.” The product includes an AI-generated 23andMe Health Summary, which the company says is in development and will be available to customers participating in its beta testing program.
“We are moving toward a world of dynamic disease risk prediction based on an individual’s latest health data. Our goal is to provide better, more personalized insights by bridging the gap between an individual’s DNA and medical records,” Robin Smith, head of product at 23andMe, said in a statement about the deal.
The announcement was made at STAT 2026 Breakthrough Summit West Tuesday, an annual event focused on the intersection of biology and technology research. This new feature is based on technology from a startup called HealthEx and is designed to help users make their medical records more portable.
