Fitness wearables company Whoop has announced several new health and artificial intelligence features.
Starting this summer, Whoop members will be able to connect directly with clinicians through the app, including live, on-demand video consultations. Additionally, members will be able to sync their electronic health records (EHR). The company says these updates will give users “a deeper understanding” of how medications, symptoms and treatments can impact performance.
In addition to these health updates, Whoop also announced the release of two new AI-driven features. The “My Memory” feature allows users to provide context to manage personalized coaching, and the “Proactive Check Ins” feature provides personalized recommendations.
According to the announcement, members can now record life events, actions, and supplements in the platform’s journal feature.
Founded in 2012, the Boston-based company also plans to expand by improving its heart rate algorithm, automatically detecting workouts, adding strength trainer trends, and enhancing its activity tracking experience.
“As Whoop continues to evolve, the focus remains clear: delivering deeply personalized, highly accurate, and increasingly practical health experiences,” the company said. “By combining AI, continuous data, and clinical insights, Whoop is redefining what it means to understand and improve human performance.”
The company announced $575 million in Series G funding in late March, valuing it at $10.1 billion, Fierce Biotech reported.
