SLAS (Laboratory Automation and Screening Association) introduced 12 companies selected for the Innovation AveNEW program at the SLAS Europe 2026 conference and exhibition, to be held May 19-21 in Vienna, Austria. Innovation AveNEW is a start-up program established by the Association to support start-up companies in the life sciences discovery and technology fields and connect them with the international scientific community.
Innovation AveNEW provides a unique platform for attendees to introduce new companies, products or services within a specially designated area of the exhibition floor, where they can interact directly with purchasing influencers and decision makers from over 40 countries. SLAS will cover exhibition costs, travel and accommodation costs (for one delegate), and will provide business consulting, mentorship and exclusive promotional opportunities. Selected companies will be invited to submit scientific papers to SLAS Discovery or SLAS Technology, SLAS’ peer-reviewed gold open access journals published by Elsevier.
Applicants will be reviewed by the Innovation AveNEW committee based on technical merit and commercial feasibility. Criteria include, but are not limited to, attractive science and technology, startup context, strength of management team, clarity of vision and market opportunity, and impact on the field of laboratory automation and technology. Each successful company will also have the opportunity to apply for the SLAS Ignite Award. The winner will be announced at the conference and will receive a prize of 5,000 euros.
