Eppendorf, a leading international life sciences company that develops, manufactures and markets equipment, consumables and services used in laboratories around the world, today announced the commercial launch of the SpinPro® 6 R centrifuge, the first of its new SpinPro floor-standing and benchtop centrifuges.

With an advanced user interface and ergonomic operation, SpinPro 6 R provides a flexible and scalable solution for sample separation.

Built on Eppendorf’s established benchtop centrifuge series, the Refrigerated SpinPro 6 R benchtop centrifuge offers additional smart features to streamline your workflow, including a new rotor with universal adapter.

These rotors can be interchanged within different models of the upcoming SpinPro series, reducing inventory and minimizing costs. With a wide range of compatible vessels, the rotor can support applications such as cell culture harvesting, biological sample processing, and protein isolation across pharmaceutical, biotech, food, and agricultural sectors.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chipped rotor enables instant recognition, increasing safety for both sample and user. All new fixed-angle rotors are equipped with Eppendorf QuickLock® Pro lids for quick and easy one-handed operation.

Designed with ergonomics in mind, SpinPro 6 R is easy to use and easily integrates into your existing workflow. Intuitive software and an adaptable 7-inch touch-based display ensure easy setup, while a one-touch motorized lid drive allows for ergonomic device operation.

SpinPro 6 R is ACT 2.0 labeled, uses F-gas-free CO2-based cooling technology, and has full transparency regarding consumption, production, and sourcing, contributing to the laboratory’s environmental goals.

The new SpinPro 6 R centrifuge is designed to make tedious centrifugation tasks a breeze. Featuring a new sustainable cooling technology, Eppendorf QuickLock® Pro lids, and advanced compliance options such as documentation and integration with LIMS systems, the SpinPro series is designed to simplify centrifugation in any laboratory environment, reduce risk and errors, and accelerate life science research. ”

Sugash Pillai, EMEA Commercial Product Manager, Eppendorf SE

Associate Professor Johannes Grillari of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Traumatology in Vienna, Austria commented: “Our laboratory aims to purify extracellular vesicles (EVs) from large quantities of cell culture supernatants, and we achieved single-step centrifugation of 1 L of conditioned medium using the SpinPro 6 R. In particular, thanks to the fixed-angle rotor FA-6×250 ID and the scale-up bucket rotor S-2xUniversal ID with swing, the time for the EV isolation protocol was reduced.”
