Plate options include BCYE (buffered charcoal yeast extract) with growth factors and selection agents, GVPC (glycine vancomycin polymyxin cycloheximide) and MWY (modified Wadowsky-Yee) agar variants (PdB1.1)(GP1.2), and cysteine-free options for comparative studies.
