INTEGRA Biosciences has made significant progress towards its net-zero goal in the three years since its commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The system independently assesses and approves companies’ carbon reduction targets according to rigorous criteria and is critical to guiding companies’ progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
INTEGRA has worked with the myclimate Foundation, a leading climate organization, to calculate its carbon footprint and implement practices to reduce its carbon footprint. These actions have enabled the company to make significant strides toward more environmentally friendly practices, including:
- Self-generated 970MWh of solar power per year
- Increase renewable energy use from 48% to 98% from 2021 onwards
- 28% reduction in Scope 3 emissions per unit of sales, specifically by halving air freight volumes, saving material on pipette tip boxes (50%) and supporting e-mobility with company-owned charging stations
To achieve a higher score in the My Green Lab® ACT® ecolabel program and provide greater transparency to our customers, INTEGRA also looks at the carbon footprint of our products and currently holds Gold status with AUTO Rack, the highest score in the Automation Tips category.
