Addgene, a purpose-driven organization that works with scientists around the world to reduce barriers to research and foster innovation, today announced that its strategic growth and service expansion is driving the organization’s revamped brand. Addgene started as a non-commercial plasmid repository. Today, the organization provides plasmids, viral vectors, and recombinant antibodies, as well as world-class educational resources, data, and support on behalf of researchers, including processing materials transfer agreements. From enabling basic CRISPR research to distributing reagents to accelerate COVID-19 vaccine development, Addgene works with researchers driving today’s most innovative discoveries.

“For more than 20 years, Adgene has been committed to empowering scientists around the world to respond and adapt to the needs of their communities. Today, our comprehensive platform of research materials and resources, built by scientists for scientists, is driving innovation in new and exciting ways.” Dr. Chonetia Jones, President and Executive Director of Adgene, said:

We are delighted to be able to showcase the full scope of the work we do and the organization we have grown through our new brand. As we look to the future, we remain committed to collaborating with scientists in academia and industry, and believe that together we can unlock the full potential of research. ”

Chonettia Jones, PhD, Addgene President and Executive Director

With the aim of expanding access to trusted research materials and enabling their sharing at scale, Addgene continues to prioritize partnerships with industry that diversify our catalog and pave the way to advance important research.

As a values-based organization, Addgene remains committed to our vision of a healthier, more just, and more sustainable world made possible through scientific discovery and collaboration. Importantly, the new Addgene brand is the culmination of decades spent partnering with scientists around the world and reflects the organization’s growth and what has always made Addgene unique.
