Biogen and Minor League Baseball’s Durham Bulls are teaming up to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in the Triangle community.
This major American milestone, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, will take on a local feel in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, where Biogen has a large manufacturing presence.
The Biogen Foundation, a community investor organization, will donate $250 for every hit made by a Bulls batter in each of the six games during the “America 250” celebration.
Donations will go to the Community Health Fund of North Carolina Community Foundation.
From the end of June until July 5, there are also themed nights such as Military Appreciation Night, Youth Sports Night, and Independence Day Celebration.
“We’re so excited to celebrate ‘America 250’ week here in Durham with our great partners at Biogen,” said Nick Babin, director of business development for CBC Sports, in a release.
“With their support, the Bulls will offer additional fireworks shows, giveaways and special experiences to local fans during their homestand.”
